Here at the Sexual Assault Centre of Brant our mission is to obtain a just social and political world for women and their communities. Our mandate is to provide healing services for women fourteen years and over who are survivors of sexual violence, to provide support to all members of the community through the 24 hour crisis and support line and to work towards the elimination of sexual violence through public education and systemic advocacy. The Centre is a feminist, anti-racism, anti-oppression, equity seeking organization and our goal is to eliminate sexual violence and to facilitate healing for survivors of sexual violence. The programs we provide are individual counseling to female survivors of sexual violence aged fourteen and over. Through our 24 hour crisis line we provide support and crisis intervention for any community member impacted by sexual violence (includes support people, workers, partners and parents). Through public education we provide prevention services, speaks, presentations, workshops, resources and promotion of issues connected to sexual violence in all its forms. We also provide advocacy, both individual (for survivors and prevention) and systemic (for prevention and to address the social conditions which allow sexual violence to be perpetrated and perpetuated).
