Wynne Government Launches It’s Never Okay: An Action Plan to Stop Sexual Violence and Harassment

On March 6, 2015, Premier Kathleen Wynne announced the implementation of an Ontario-wide Action Plan, It’s Never Okay: An Action Plan to Stop Sexual Violence and Harassment.

The new Action Plan follows up the 2011 Sexual Violence Action Plan, and includes initiatives towards sexual violence prevention, education and increased funding for supports for survivors provided by community partners.

A strength of the new plan is that it aims to address sexual violence on a few different tiers: community supports for survivors, education and training, and root causes of sexual violence.

Sly Castaldi (Guelph Women In Crisis), Linda Baker (The Learning Network), Clare Freeman (Hamilton Interval House) and Lenore Lukasik-Foss (Sexual Assault Centre of Hamilton & Area) attend the announcement of It's Never Okay: An Action Plan to Stop Sexual Violence and Harassment.
